INTRODUCTION: A TRAGIC LOVE STORY WITH A DEADLY TWIST

What started as a tragic murder mystery involving a young woman named Sonam and her lover Raja Raghuvanshi has now taken a dark and disturbing turn. The nation was gripped by the brutal killing that appeared to be the result of a passionate affair gone wrong. But in a bombshell revelation, police have disclosed that Sonam’s own brother was the criminal mastermind behind the horrific incident!

This new twist has left the public stunned, and has raised disturbing questions about the truth behind the couple’s tragic fate. Who was the real target? What drove a brother to orchestrate such a cold-blooded crime? Here’s everything we know so far.

THE BACKSTORY: LOVE AGAINST ALL ODDS

Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi were a young couple caught in a forbidden romance. According to local sources, their relationship was never approved by Sonam’s family, particularly her brother, who held traditional values and reportedly disapproved of Raja’s background and ambitions.

Friends of the couple revealed that they were planning to elope, as mounting family pressure was threatening their bond. But before they could escape, tragedy struck.

On a rainy night, Raja was found brutally murdered, and Sonam—traumatized and incoherent—was taken into police custody for questioning.

THE INVESTIGATION: A SINISTER PLOT UNFOLDS

At first, suspicions pointed in many directions: a jealous rival, a spurned lover, or even a family feud. But police weren’t convinced. It was only when forensic evidence and phone records were analyzed that the pieces began to fall into place—and the name that kept appearing wasn’t an outsider.

It was Sonam’s brother, who had pretended to grieve, attend rituals, and support his sister in public, while privately pulling the strings behind the murder.

A senior investigator revealed, “He planned everything meticulously. From tracking their movements to hiring local criminals, this was no impulsive act—it was premeditated murder.”

THE MOTIVE: HONOUR OR HATRED?

According to police reports, Sonam’s brother saw Raja as an “obstacle” and an “outsider.” Sources claim he was obsessed with preserving family honour, and believed Raja had “tainted” their reputation. But some insiders suggest there may have been deeper motives—perhaps financial disputes, property conflicts, or even political ambition.

Shockingly, investigators also uncovered messages and voice recordings indicating Sonam’s brother threatened her repeatedly if she didn’t leave Raja.

This led to a shocking conclusion: Sonam may have known more than she initially revealed—but kept silent out of fear.

SONAM’S ROLE: VICTIM, ACCOMPLICE, OR SURVIVOR?

Public opinion remains divided on Sonam. Was she a helpless victim caught between love and family? Or did she suspect her brother’s intentions and fail to act? As of now, Sonam is under protective custody, and her testimony will be crucial in the upcoming trial.

Activists are demanding justice for both Sonam and Raja, while social media has exploded with hashtags like #JusticeForRaja and #SonamBetrayed.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Sonam’s brother has been formally arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy, and intimidation. The trial is expected to begin soon, and authorities have assured the public that no one will be spared, no matter how close to the victim.

But the emotional scars this case has left will take longer to heal.

CONCLUSION: A SHOCKING REMINDER OF HIDDEN MONSTERS

The Sonam–Raja Raghuvanshi case has shaken the nation not just because of the crime—but because it exposes the monsters that can live within our own homes. A brother, a protector, turned into a predator. A love story, turned into a murder mystery. And a family secret, now exposed for the world to see.

Marak said that they have only admitted to being involved in the conspiracy.
Marak said that at present all the five accused are being interrogated separately, and only after that they will be interrogated face to face. He said that Raj and Sonam had an illicit relationship. He told that Sonam’s pregnancy test was done, but she is not pregnant. He said that if needed, Sonam will be taken not only to Indore, but wherever she needs to be taken.

Suitcase helped in solving the case
DIG Davis NR Marak told that Raj is calling Sonam the mastermind, and Sonam is pointing fingers at Raj. The interrogation will continue until their statements match. He told that in the initial phase of the investigation, the police found a suitcase from a homestay in Sohra, where Raja and Sonam stayed. Inside the suitcase, we found a mangalsutra and a ring. This raised doubts that she (Sonam) could have been alive at that time. After all, why would a tourist leave her mangalsutra while going for a picnic. Marak said that at the beginning of the investigation, the police was not clear whether this case was related to murder, missing person or accident. Meanwhile, he also said that it is not yet clear whether Sonam tried to fabricate a false story during the investigation, and whether she threw the mobile phone or not. He said, we hope that when the time comes, we will be able to confirm this. All five accused are being questioned separately

He said that if needed, interrogation will be done there as well. In response to a question, Marak said that according to the information so far, the three accused had reached here almost at the same time as Sonam and Raja. After the interrogation, if the police feels the need, the crime scene will also be created. Marak also said that Sonam is looking a little emotional. But it cannot be said with certainty whether she is really emotional or is pretending. The SIT is interrogating everyone separately.
